Officers were called to the hit-and-run crash at the intersection of York and Porters roads in Heidelberg Township at 12:26 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 13, as Daily Voice previously reported.

A white 2003-2005  Ford Explorer had stopped at a stop sign facing south on Porters Road and made a left turn to travel west on York Road, striking a 2014 Harley-Davidson motorcycle that was going east on York Rd, witnesses told the police.

"After the impact, the Ford Explorer fled west on York Rd. towards Hanover, PA," police wrote in the release.

The 53-year-old Cory Houston and his 10-year-old daughter, Ella, both from Seven Valleys were wearing helmets during the crash.

The police released the following about their conditions:

"The 10-year-old girl was taken to Hershey Medical Center wear she is being treated for two brain bleeds. The mother of the child is waiting for doctors to give a prognosis of injury. The operator of the motorcycle was taken to York Hospital for extensive injuries, but is expected to recover from his injuries."

His older daughter Savanna has launched a GoFundMe to help her family. She wrote the following about her sister's and dad's conditions:

"My little sister was flown to Hershey Medical Center because she has two brain bleeds and a major concussion. Thank the Lord, as of right now, she is stable and the bleeding isn't worsening. Waiting and praying for her is all we can do right now.""My dad has major injuries: fractures to his right ankle, right pelvis, and two vertebrae. My dad is having three separate surgeries on his ankle, hip, and back. Recovery is going to be long and hard. Also he will be out of work for atleast 3 months. My dad is a truck driver and sole provider for his household and takes care of my grandpa."

Over three dollars have been raised to help the family at the time of publishing.

The police continue to search for the striking vehicle. Auto parts were collected from the scene, according to the police who believe that the suspected striking SUV should have damage to the front driver’s side area of the vehicle.
